Environmental Vibration

We are often asked by our clients to assess vibration for planning applications or consult on how to solve existing vibration problems.

Typically, man-made sources of vibration which we have experienced are:

  • Piling Operations
  • Road Traffic
  • Railways
  • Blasting
  • Rotating Machinery
  • Drop Forging

When tackling these problems we may need to consider either of the following:

  • Human response to vibration. Are people likely to be concerned over the operation of one of these sources?
  • Building response to vibration. Is a particular source likely to be at a level at which damage to a building is possible?
