Environmental Vibration

We are often asked by our clients to assess vibration for planning applications or consult on how to solve existing vibration problems.

Typically, manmade sources of vibration which we have experienced are

  • Piling Operations
  • Road Traffic
  • Railways
  • Blasting
  • Rotating Machinery
  • Drop Forging

When tackling these problems we may need to consider either of the following

  • Human response to vibration. Are people likely to be concerned over the operation of one of these sources?
  • Building response to vibration. Is a particular source likely to be at a level at which damage to a building is possible?
